5.-6. oktoobril 2023 toimub Tartus rahvusvaheline konverents “Finnic Contacts” (“Läänemere kontaktid”), mis toob kokku erinevate erialade esindajad Eestist ja välismaalt. Esimesel päeval toimuvad plenaarettekanded ja üldsektsioon. Teise päeva ettekanded võib koondada kolme teemaderingi: Soome lahe äärsed kontaktid, kontaktid läänemeresoome idapiiril ning Liivi lahe ümbruse kontaktid. Konverents on pühendatud eelmisel aastal lahkunud prof. Tiit-Rein Viitso (1938-2022) mälestusele. Ühtlasi tähistame konverentsiga liivi pärandi aastat ja põliskeelte kümnendit.
Konverents toimub Tartu Ülikooli Omicumi auditooriumis aadressil Riia 23b-105. Vajalik eelregistreerumine (tähtaeg 1. oktoober), vorm asub SIIN.
